Pakistan pace bowler Haris Rauf has returned to international cricket after being sidelined for four months.

Haris Rauf delivered a decent performance in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India. However, post-tournament, some of his statements caused controversy.

Rauf highlighted the need for workload management and prioritizing his physical well-being, which led the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to terminate his contract. Subsequently, he played in the BBL, further straining his relationship with the board.

Rauf had a mediocre performance in the Shaheen Afridi -led T20 series vs New Zealand and the PSL with the Lahore Qalandars. During the PSL, he faced an injury setback, dislocating his shoulder while making a successful diving catch.

This injury ruled him out for the rest of the PSL and the upcoming series against New Zealand and Ireland. In the second T20I, where Pakistan lost, Rauf bowled 4 overs, conceding 34 runs and taking 2 wickets.

Recently, Rauf spoke about how an injury layoff can provide time to rethink and come back stronger.

"I was injured the last few months. If you believe in yourself, then the layoff can be a blessing in disguise. Because, you have time to recover and reassess your game plans. I felt good coming back to cricket. When you play for your country, it makes you very proud," Rauf said at a press conference ahead of Pakistan's third T20I against England, which was abandoned.

Pakistan is currently playing a T20I series in England ahead of the T20 World Cup. While the first and third games were abandoned due to rain, England won the second T20I.
