Social media is a place where people from all over the world can talk logically as well as illogically. The randomness makes the place toxic, and hence, even famous individuals sometimes have to step up and shut the critic.

Netherlands' prolific fast bowler Paul van Meekeren had to take such a step lately, as there had been a lot of Pakistani fans who constantly kept irritating him on public platforms. In fact, some of them referred to him as the son of Haris Rauf, one of the spearheads of Pakistan's attack, alongside Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, and Naseem Shah among others.

"Since the last 50 over World Cup I’ve had many people say this… I just wanna clarify that I’m not Haris Raif’s son, my dad is actually, funnily enough, also called Paul (Adriaan) van Meekeren!! I hope this solves any confusion… if not please reach out with your questions," Van Meekeren tweeted in a hilarious manner.

However, van Meekeren and Rauf probably won't go face to face in the upcoming T20 World Cup, to be played in the USA and the West Indies next month. While Rauf's Pakistan are in Group A, alongside India, Canada, and the USA, the Netherlands are placed in Group D, with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, and Nepal.
