The Australian team has defeated the South African team and have cruised their way into the final of the World Cup 2023. Although it wasn't an easy win for the Aussies, but the target set by the Proteas was below-par, hence they managed to chase it down with three wickets in hand. Now, the five-time champions will be the best team of the tournament and the hosts, India.

The Indian team have been impressive throughout the tournament with both bat and ball. The problem that the Indian team had of batting at number four seems to be solved now, as Shreyas Iyer has been enjoying his purple patch. He has become the first Indian to score 500-plus runs while batting at number four.

The hero of the World Cup 2011, Gautam Gambhir, hails the right-hander and believes he will be a key player in the final of the World Cup 2023 on the 19th of November.

Here's what Gautam Gambhir said while describing the importance of Shreyas Iyer:

"Shreyas Iyer is the biggest game changer for me in this World Cup. He was injured, and had to fight for his place, and to score a century in 70 balls in the knockout is simply outstanding. He'll be the key for India in the Final when Maxwell and Zampa bowls."

The southpaw was all praises for Shreyas Iyer as he was struggling in the tournament initially, but the way he bounced back and delivered four consecutive 50-plus scores including a couple of hundreds in the last four games, one of them being the semifinal.

Gautam Gambhir believes that Shreyas Iyer will be the key player when Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell come to bowl, as he has been smashing spinners for fun in this tournament so far. With the way Iyer has made a comeback after an injury, he has been prolific for the Indian team.

With just a couple of sleeps away from the big final between India and Australia, we will soon be watching one of them scripting history in the cricket world.
