As the cricketing world braces itself for one of the most anticipated clashes in the sport's history - India vs. Pakistan - the spotlight not only shines on the rivalry but also on the fitness and form of the players. Shubman Gill, Indian opener, finds himself in the center of this attention, as concerns about his fitness have emerged. To shed light on the situation, Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour recently addressed the media.

Shubman Gill's journey to becoming a key player in the Indian cricket team has been marked by tremendous skill and potential. However, it appears that health issues have posed a significant challenge to his availability for the upcoming clash against Pakistan.

According to reports, Gill recently battled dengue, which resulted in a significant drop in his platelet count. A normal male athlete should have between 1.5 lakhs to 4.5 lakhs platelets per micro litre of blood, but Gill's count plummeted to just 90,000 per micro litre.

Here's what he said:

During the press conference with the media, former cricketer provided insights into Shubman Gill's situation.

"Just looking to focus on process. That is our message, looking to play our game right, is on us. We have got a team which will get results right if we."

Addressing concerns about Gill's health, Rathour provided an update, saying,

"He was hospitalized. He is back in the hotel. Being monitored by the medical team in Chennai. Hopefully back soon."

When asked about the team's batting approach for the upcoming game, Rathour highlighted the importance of freedom and trust in the players.

"Everyone knows how to play this format. We are giving freedom to all, all have different ways of playing, gotta trust it." He said

Regarding the batting order and Gill's potential role as an opener, Rathour clarified,

"He has opened in the past. No specific discussions. That is one of the reasons he is here; he can bat at the top order. Hopefully, he does good (Ishan Kishan)."

As India eagerly awaits the clash with Pakistan, the uncertainty surrounding Shubman Gill's fitness adds an element of suspense to the high-stakes match.
