In an exciting ICC World Cup 2023 match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Dilshan Madushanka delivered a breakthrough moment right at the start. The match was in its early stages when the young Sri Lankan pacer dismissed the talented Pakistani opener, Imam-ul-Haq, with a delivery that showcased his skill and cunning.

It all happened in the 3.3rd over of Pakistan's innings when Imam-ul-Haq faced Madushanka. The Sri Lankan pacer surprised the batsman with his pace by delivering a short-pitched ball outside off stump. Imam, known for his ability to handle fast bowling, attempted to pull the ball but couldn't control his stroke. The result was a top edge, sending the ball high into the night sky.

What followed was sheer brilliance in the field. Kusal Perera, stationed in the deep fine leg region, read the trajectory of the ball perfectly. He sprinted forward and dived with utmost precision to take a stunning catch. The crowd erupted in celebration as Pakistan lost their first wicket, and Sri Lanka gained the upper hand.

As the match continued, it became clear that Dilshan Madushanka's dismissal of Imam-ul-Haq would be a turning point.  At the time writing, Pakistan stands at 37/2 in 7.2 overs after the early exit of their skipper Babar Azam.
