ICC Announces Men's Player Of The Month Nominees For September 2023 Ft. Shubman Gill, Siraj

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the names of the three cricketers in contention for the Men's Player of the Month Award for September 2023. 


Gill, Siraj, and Malan lead September's ICC nominations

The coveted list features Indian sensations - Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj, along with England's rock-solid Dawid Malan.

Shubman Gill

India's prodigious opener, Gill made a significant mark in September. The dashing right-handed batsman scored a whopping 480 runs in One Day Internationals (ODI) at a remarkable average of 80. Gill's batting brilliance was on full display during the Asia Cup 2023, where he notched two blistering half-centuries and a memorable century against Bangladesh, propelling India to lift the trophy. Not resting on his laurels, Gill carried forward his scintillating form into the subsequent ODI series against Australia where he scored 74 in Mohali and a magnificent 104 in Indore before being rest for the final ODI in the lead upto World Cup 2023.




Mohammed Siraj

Another standout performer for India during the month of September was Siraj. Known for his fierce deliveries, Siraj made headlines with a staggering six-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final. Decimating the opposition's batting order, he clinched extraordinary figures of 6/21, ensuring India's dominance in the match and their eventual victory. Throughout the month, the aggressive right-arm pacer has scalped 11 batsmen while at an excellent average of 17.27.

Dawid Malan

England's top-order maestro, Malan, showed his cricketing genius throughout September. The classy left-hander was particularly lethal during England's ODI series against New Zealand. Malan, who was deservingly named the Player of the Series, showcased consistent performances with scores of 54, 96, and a splendid 127. These numbers not only highlight his consistency but also his ability to score big and at a brisk pace, reflected by his impressive strike rate of 105.72 in the series.
