In the 8th match of World Cup 2023 between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, fielding woes took centre stage, casting a shadow of uncertainty over Pakistan's performance after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat in the match.

The pivotal moment unfolded during the 7th over of the match, with Pakistan pacer, Shaheen Afridi bowling the over. Facing his short delivery, Kusal Mendis, a linchpin in Sri Lanka's lineup, took the opportunity to slice a square drive off the following delivery. 

Positioned perfectly at point, Imam-ul-Haq was poised to make the catch. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the ball popped out of his hands. What should have been a straightforward catch turned into a pivotal moment, potentially influencing the match's outcome.
