As uncertainty surrounds skipper Axar Patel’s availability for the crucial clash, Mott revealed, “Honestly, I’m not entirely sure if he’ll play. He skipped training today and has been battling illness and minor injuries lately," Mott said as quoted by ANI.

Mott further shared that Patel's medical condition is being assessed. "We’ll assess his condition after consulting the medical team tonight. Knowing Axar’s dedication, he’ll want to lead the side, but his fitness will decide,” Mott added.

Mott Positive To End IPL 2025 Campaign On A High

Reflecting on their performance, Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Matthew Mott acknowledged the squad’s uneven journey.

“There’s still plenty of motivation to win this last game. While it’s been a disappointing finish to what started as a promising campaign, we had a strong early run with multiple wins. The second half, however, was inconsistent. This match is a chance to end positively and build momentum for the future,” Mott added.

With a blend of seasoned players and rising stars, the Axar Patel-led Capitals are poised to leave nothing to chance as they strive to wrap up their season with a spirited performance. As Mott emphasised, the team’s focus remains on closing this chapter with pride and setting the stage for a stronger comeback.
