It marked the end of a remarkable 14-year journey in the longest format. The news hit fans hard, leaving them heartbroken and clinging to the hope of witnessing Kohli’s magic now only in ODIs.
Apart from his unmatchable aggression, Kohli’s witty personality on the field always entertains the fans. As the fans were curious about how Kohli is doing post-retirement, RCB’s mentor Dinesh Karthik revealed that the Indian batter is in his happiest mode, enjoying every bit of the game.
“It came as a shock to the outside world, so we were just observing what Virat was up to. He is at his happiest now - he's enjoying the sport, and he genuinely wants to spend more time with his family,” Karthik said.

After Kohli hung up his boots, a lot of buzz was created saying if it is the right time to make the decision. The cricket world still believes a lot of cricket is left in him. Speaking on this, Dinesh Karthik admitted he was initially stunned but emphasised that since it’s Kohli’s personal choice, he fully respects it.
“It's a personal decision, and we respect it. Like everyone else, we were taken aback - 'Oh, this is happening.' But the fact is, it's great to see him happy and ready whenever we want him to play. The key is to keep him in good spirits,” he added.
As the IPL 2025 is entertaining the fans, Kohli is showcasing his vintage form. As the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are already qualified in the playoffs, they are eyeing their maiden trophy.
