Rashid Latif Heaps Praises On Virat Kohli

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has heaped high praise on Virat Kohli, noting that the Indian batting superstar has a significant fan base in Pakistan. The dynamic batter is widely regarded as one of the finest modern-era batters, excelling in all three formats of the game.

"Virat’s popularity in Pakistan is on par with Dilip sahab, Mr. Bachchan and Shah Rukh. Like in India, you guys loved our bowlers – Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar became household names. Here in Pakistan, we adored Gavaskar sahab, Tendulkar, then Dhoni and now Kohli – they are all icons. Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag too have a good fan following in Pakistan. But all said and done, the mad-craze over Virat is another level,” Latif added.

Latif asserted that Kohli has achieved a level of fame in India and Pakistan comparable to that of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. He further claimed that the obsession with Kohli in Pakistan is unparalleled, he stated that he commands the same respect as icons like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
