After an embarrassing defeat against the USA in their opening T20 World Cup 2024 match, Pakistan will look to get their campaign back on track when they face India on June 9 at the Nassau County International Stadium. 

The defeat against the USA came as a shock for Pakistan as they now fear their campaign getting over early in case of a defeat against India. 

Talking about India, the Men in Blue are high on confidence as they beat Ireland by 8 wickets to sit 2nd on the table in Group A behind USA who are table toppers with four points in two games. 

Ahead of the Indo-Pak clash, several cricket pundits weighed in their predictions and mostly favoured India to have an edge over their neighbours. Meanwhile, Pakistani all-rounder Fawad Alam issued a warning to the Babar Azam-led side while praising Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. 

Alam, who last represented his country in 2022, stated that Virat and Bumrah are match winners for India and can take the game away from Pakistan with their skills. 

“Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will make an impact for India in the game because of their experience and also the quality of both of them. They can easily take the game away from Pakistan,” Alam told PTI Videos in an interview. As a team, India is well-balanced, and it will be really hard to get past them,” said Fawad Alam.

Alam also backed Mohammad Amir to replicate his 2017 Champions Trophy final performance against India in this upcoming match. 

Talking about Amir, he was in the news recently for his poor over in the super-over against the USA.
