'All Yours Now...': Warner Passes Baton To Young Australian Sensation Fraser-McGurk After Retirement

David Warner has retired from international cricket and named his successor for Australian team. Through his Instagram story, Warner posted a photo with young Fraser McGurk, sharing a beer and captioning it with "all yours, champion."

David Warner, one of the most prolific batters of our times, announced his retirement from international cricket following Australia getting knocked out from the T20 World Cup. 

After Bangladesh's defeat to Afghanistan, Australia was eliminated from the T20 World Cup, which made India and Afghanistan to advance to the semi-finals. Warner announced his retirement after the Afghanistan Bangladesh game.

Warner's final innings were six runs off six balls in the defeat against India. Despite this, he leaves a remarkable legacy as Australia's all-time top scorer in the T20 format and one of the few players to excel across all formats.

With 49 centuries across formats and nearly 19,000 runs in international cricket, Warner also own sensational numbers in franchise cricket. David Warner is expected to continue to play in the IPL.

'All yours champion': Warner names his successor

Warner identified his successor for the Australian team: Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was a sensation in the IPL 2024, will be Warner's replacement. In the IPL, Warner and Fraser-McGurk both play for the Delhi Capitals. 

 In IPL 2024, Fraser-McGurk scored 330 runs in 9 matches at a strike rate of over 230 for the Capitals. The 22-year-old McGurk was Australia's reserve player for the T20 World Cup.
