England’s white ball captain, Jos Buttler, is gearing his team up for a fierce showdown against India in the T20 World Cup semi-final.

Recalling their Past victory against India in the 2022 semi-final, Buttler emphasised the challenge of facing a more aggressive Indian team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma this time around.


Buttler on Facing a Transformed Indian Team

Jos Buttler reminisced about their previous encounter. This highlights the significance of their early performance in securing the win.

Buttler acknowledged the transformation in India’s playing style following their T20 WC 2022 exit, noting their aggressive approach in both T20 and ODI World Cup matches.

“We are playing a different India this time, led by Rohit Sharma. The shift in their attitude came after their heartbreaking exit in the T20 WC 2022.”

In the 2022 semi-final, India faced a crushing defeat against England on November 10, with Buttler steering his team to a resounding 10-wicket victory at the Adelaide Oval.

In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, England reached the semi-final with two wins against the USA and West Indies in the Super 8s, enough to take them through despite losing to South Africa at that stage.

They will face India on May 27 in the semi-final clash of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Guyana. India, yet to lose a game in the tournament, won three group stage games, and rain interrupted their fourth match. They have also won three out of three games in the Super 8s.

The odds are against England as they bid to reach the Men's T20 World Cup final for the second edition in a row. Buttler’s confidence and focus will be crucial in navigating this high-stakes match against an undefeatable Indian side.
