Legendary Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh labeled Virat Kohli as the fitness guru in the Indian team. In an interaction with Star Sports, Harbhajan revealed that he was stunned to see Virat Kohli’s transformation from being a junk food addict to a fitness freak.

Kohli, who brought fitness culture in the Indian setup, is not just considered as one of the fittest Indian athletes but one of the fittest cricketers that the game has ever seen. Various current and recently retired cricketers give Kohli the credit for their fitness regimes, and Harbhajan seconds that.

Virat Kohli used to always talk about food and was a big-time foodie. But then I saw him changing his eating habits and implementing new eating patterns,Harbhajan Singh told Star Sports.

“Virat Kohli also helped me become more disciplined and I achieved my peak fitness in those couple of years. It was because of Virat Kohli because he used to take me to the Gym every day. I would call him the fitness guru as he is the one who set the pattern of fitness in the Indian team,” Harbhajan Singh added.

The duo share a great friendship, and also helped India win the 2011 World Cup.

Kohli withdraws from ongoing Tests vs England

India’s run-machine, Virat Kohli is currently on a short sabbatical from the team amidst the ongoing five-match series against England. He had earlier pulled out of the series, citing personal reasons. India took a 2-1 lead in the series after crushing England by 434 runs in the third Test match at Rajkot.

Virat will decide when he wants to make a comeback to the Indian side. He hasn’t informed us till now but whenever he decides to play, he will be included in the team,” a BCCI official had said.

The fourth Test is slated to be played in Ranchi, starting 23rd February 2024. As per reports, Kohli could make himself available for the fifth and final Test. However, neither Virat Kohli nor BCCI has come forward to reveal the reason behind the former’s absence from the game.
