Kartik Aaryan Set To Sizzle In The Opening Ceremony Of WPL 2024

According to the official announcement from the Women’s Premier League and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Bollywood celebrity Kartik Aaryan is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Women’s Premier League on 23rd February. 

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM, preceding the game kickoff at 7:30 PM. Additionally, tickets for the tournament have been made available by the BCCI. 

The live stream is available on the prominent TV channel, Sports 18 and OTT platform, Jio Cinema. In the 2023 edition, the inaugural edition, Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani and AP Dhillon had performed at DY Patil Stadium.


In the opening game of the campaign, the defending champions Mumbai Indians Women will face off against the Delhi Capitals Women. Mumbai Indians Women will aim to maintain their dominance in the tournament, while Delhi Capitals Women will seek to rectify past mistakes and vie for the coveted title.

On the flip side, the team with one of the most loyal fan bases, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, is grappling with injuries ahead of the season opener. The team has been dealt a blow with the absence of the English skipper, Heather Knight, and the emerging Indian middle-order talent, Kanika Ahuja. 

While replacements have been drafted in, it remains to be seen if the team can surpass last year's disappointing performance and exceed expectations.

The tournament will be held across two stadiums, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The first 11 games of the tournament will take place in Bengaluru, while the remaining nine games and two playoffs will be held in Delhi.
