Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf responded with a touch of humor when questioned about the intensity of the India-Pakistan rivalry and the perceived lack of aggression from his side during these high-stakes encounters.

Whenever India faces Pakistan on the cricket field, fans around the world anticipate a thrilling contest due to the rich history between these neighboring nations.

From memorable battles like Javed Miandad vs. Kiran More to Harbhajan Singh vs. Shoaib Akhtar, this age-old rivalry has witnessed numerous mini-battles.

However, now it's been observed that players from both teams often refrain from overt aggression during these high-stakes encounters.

In a viral video from a press conference, a reporter asked Rauf about the seeming absence of aggression from Pakistan's fast bowlers when facing India. Rauf's response was both witty and light-hearted. He quipped,

"Kyun, ab ladayi kar le unke sath? (Should we start fighting with them now)?"  He added, "Cricket khel rahe hai jung thodi lagi hui hai (We are playing cricket, not fighting a war)."

Rauf's response has garnered praise on social media for its sportsmanship.

While Rauf may not engage in verbal confrontations, he made it clear that he will bring his best and showcase aggression when bowling to Indian batters. His remarkable performance with the ball during the 2023 Asia Cup, where he claimed nine wickets in four matches, highlighted his potential as a crucial player for Pakistan.

Unfortunately, an injury sustained during the Super Four clash against India cut short his tournament, contributing to Pakistan's exit following a last-ball defeat to Sri Lanka in their final Super Four game. Nonetheless, Rauf has declared himself fit for the upcoming ICC World Cup.

The cricketing world eagerly anticipates the renewal of the India-Pakistan rivalry in the 2023 ODI World Cup, set to unfold at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
