Top Five Knocks of KL Rahul in Tests

Over the last few years, the Indian team have been one of the most dominating ones across all formats because of the players, who have been consistent with their expertise. Whether it's the batters or the bowlers, the Men in Blue have managed to come out on top especially in the longest format. 

The right-handed batter, KL Rahul, has been nothing short of impeccable for the Indian team in all the formats. He's not just consistent with the bat but has been tough enough to cope up with every batting position, he's been asked to play at. In 48 Tests, he has already scored over 2700 runs and he is one of the most consistent batters of the Indian team.

Now, he has started batting in the lower middle order in the longest format and managed to score a century against South Africa. 199 vs England, Chennai, 2016

Back in 2016, India hosted an all format tour for England and it was the fifth when KL Rahul missed out on his maiden Test double century by just one run. In the iconic Test, India only had to bat once, as they won by an innings. 

KL Rahul batted beautifully to put up a show with his class and went on to score 199 runs before he got out on the delivery of Adil Rashid in the first innings and along with Karun Nair's tripple century, India managed to post a huge total of 750.

In the fifth Test of the series against England in their den, KL Rahul almost took India with his exceptional knock in the second innings along with Rishabh Pant, who scored a century as well. 

India had to chase 464 within two days, which could have been possible but they were three down for just two runs. KL Rahul stitched a partnership with Rahane and Rishabh Pant. Rahul smashed 149 before he got out against Adil Rashid, who bowled him miraculously.

A couple of years back, KL Rahul, registered his name on the honour board of the Lord's Stadium by scoring a century. KL and Rohit Sharma stitched an opening partnership of 126 runs and gave a commendable start to the Indian team. 

The right-handed batter went on to smash 129 helping the team post a total of 364, which eventually help the Indian team win a thrilling match at the home of cricket.

123 vs South Africa, Centurion, 2021

The year 2021 turned out to be a great one for KL Rahul, as he expressed his class in the SENA countries. He even led the Indian side in the team in the two Tests against South Africa. 

In the first Test of India's tour to South Africa, KL Rahul smashed 123 in the first innings and helped the Indian team post a decent first-innings score of 327, which eventually became the difference, as India won by 113 runs.

India still haven't won a Test series in South Africa and now that the first Test has begun, it brings hope of clinching the series and KL Rahul is standing tall to help India win their first ever Test series in South Africa. 

In the first Test, after losing few wickets, KL Rahul came to bat at a new position and stayed on the wicket for long period of time, scoring 101 runs which was nothing short of an impeccable effort to put India in a comfortable position.
