Leading the team in 72 T20I matches since 2007, MS Dhoni with 41 wins is the third among the captains with most wins and first among Indians. 


2) Rohit Sharma - 39 Wins

During the last one and half months, Rohit Sharma has been appreciated for his captaincy by the greatest players in the world cricket, because of the way he led the Indian team in the World Cup 2023. BCCI wants him to continue as the captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup, but it's totally up to him whether he accepts the offer or not. 

Rohit Sharma has led the team to win the famous Nidahas Trophy and also took the team to the semifinals of the T20I World Cup 2022 in Australia. During his time as the captain, India have excelled in the shortest format. Leading the side in 51 T20I games, he has 39 wins under his belt and is proving to be one of the greatest captains in the history of Indian cricket.


3) Virat Kohli - 31 Wins

After MS Dhoni, it was Virat Kohli who took over the captaincy, from where the aggressiveness from the Indian team began. The right-hander is also among the most successful captains of India, as he led the team to winning a Test series in Australia and also winning Test matches in England. 

Before the T20 World Cup 2021, he announced that won't be leading the team after the tournament and stepped down from the captaincy. He led the team in 50 T20I games and went on to win 30 of them. He is third best Indian captain when it comes to the shortest format. 


4) Hardik Pandya - 10 Wins
