On Monday, December 16, India's Test vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah attended the press, following a difficult day for the Indian team in the 3rd Test at the Gabba. The right-arm seamer was questioned about the Indian batters' underwhelming performance, to which the reporter also undermined Bumrah's batting skills.

The MI seamer quickly took note of it and reminded the reporter of his heroics against Stuart Broad during the Birmingham Test in 2022, when he smashed 35 runs in an over, which is a record to date for most runs scored in an over in Tests. 

How Bumrah Scored 35 Runs Against Stuart Broad In Birmingham Test?

Not all the 35 runs were scored by Bumrah, but he was at the striker's end when he collected all the 35 runs. Broad started the four with a wide that raced for a boundary. It was followed with a four off a no-ball, resulting in 10 runs without a official delivery.

Bumrah then unleashed his batting prowess and hit Broad for a six, followed by three fours. He then hit the ex-England pacer for another maximum before taking a single off the last ball. Thus, inspired by Bumrah's heroics, let's look at the top ten batters with most Test runs in a single over. 

Bumrah's Batting Efforts In Vain vs England In 2022

Bumrah scored 31 runs in the first innings, but his efforts went in vain as India went onto lose that match against England. It was the one-off Test, where England beat India by seven wickets to level the series 2-2. 

It is worth noting that Bumrah was leading in that match as Rohit Sharma was not available for the one-off Test match.
