Jasprit Bumrah has again come to India's rescue as the right-arm seamer has registered another five-wicket haul. The 31-year-old took the crucial wicket of Travis Head to complete his fifer in the ongoing 3rd Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.
India started day 2 on a positive note as they took three quick wickets. However, Steve Smith and Travis Head stitched a 241-runs stand for the 5th wicket to put Australia in the driver's seat. Meanwhile, Bumrah broke that partnership with Smith's wicket.
Bumrah Shines On A Tough Day For India
Bumrah unleased a beast mode with the new ball as he then quickly sent Mitchell Marsh packing with a peach of a delivery. He completed his fifer on the 5th ball of the 87th ball, when he bowled a fuller length delivery that Head looked to drive through the covers but found a thick outside edge. It was a regular catch for Rishabh Pant and he made no mistake behind the wickets.
Bumrah Completes 12th Five-Wicket Haul In Tests
It was Bumrah's 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket and second in the BGT. He also registered a fifer in the first Test that led to India's win in that game. Further, Bumrah took his wicket tally to 17 in this BGT, the most by any bowler.
He took the scalps of Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, and Travis Head. Bumrah also went past Kapil Dev to now hold the record for most five-wicket haul in SENA countries. Here is the complete list.
