The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have always been known for their powerful batting lineup, and over the years, many great players have played memorable knocks for the team. 

On May 25, 2025, Dewald Brevis added his name to that list with a brilliant inning against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. 

With this quickfire half-century, Brevis has now joined the list of CSK’s fastest fifties, alongside big names. Let’s explore them one by one.

The latest name on this list is Dewald Brevis, who joined CSK in 2025 and made an immediate impact. Against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, Brevis scored a quick 19-ball fifty. His clean-hitting and fearless approach impressed everyone.

Known as "Baby AB" for his resemblance to AB de Villiers, Brevis proved why he is considered a future star. This innings helped CSK post a strong total of 230 runs on the board and added a new chapter to their legacy of explosive fifties.

Veteran Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane surprised everyone with a brilliant knock against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede in IPL 2023. While naturally he is a calm hitter, Rahane changed gears and played an aggressive innings, scoring 50 off just 19 balls.

He smashed boundaries and sixes with ease and helped CSK chase a target of 158 runs comfortably. Rahane finished with 61 off 27 balls, with 7 fours, 3 sixes, and a 225.92 strike rate.

English all-rounder Moeen Ali showed his hitting skills against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. At the Brabourne Stadium, Moeen smashed a fifty in just 19 balls, hitting clean and powerful shots throughout his innings.

He ended up scoring 93 runs from 57 balls, but it was his start that made all the difference. Ali hit Trent Boult for 30 runs in an over and propelled CSK to a 150/6 total. Though CSK lost the game, fans approved Moeen’s resurgence.

Former Indian cricketer and CSK legend Suresh Raina’s 16-ball fifty against Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) in IPL 2014 is still one of the most iconic innings in IPL history. This knock came in Qualifier 2 at the Wankhede Stadium. Chasing 227, Raina went berserk from the very first ball, smashing the bowlers all around the ground.

He scored 87 runs off just 25 balls but got run out. Despite CSK losing the game by 24 runs, Raina’s innings is still remembered as one of the best in IPL. This remains the fastest fifty ever for CSK.
