India's backup middle-order batter and wicket-keeper Sanju Samson, who has been exceptionally high on talent, is one of the most unfortunate person to have missed out on plenty of opportunities in the national setup despite some high-class performances in the domestic setup and Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Rajasthan Royals skipper, who also leads Kerala, has received plenty of support from his fans from different parts of the country and some legends of the game, including former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who praised Samson back in 2020 for his ability to bat well like the seniors of the side.

Going as far as predicting that the right-hander will be the number one batter in the upcoming years if presented with proper opportunities in blue. Moreover, adding that Samson not playing for India is India's loss not Sanju's.

Additionally, Gambhir recognised Samson's six-hitting abilities and compared them to MS Dhoni's, mentioning that if MS had hit these kinds of sixes, then what would have happened?

This got noticed after Sanju played a marvellous knock against the South African side in the ongoing series, smashing 108 off 114 deliveries with six fours and three sixes, taking India to a total of 296 in the third and final ODI of the series.

Samson, meanwhile, will lead his side RR again in the upcoming IPL edition, while Gambhir, who recently moved to his old franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, is ready to provide them with his valued mentorship.
