Indian batsman Sanju Samson bludgeoned his maiden international century through his fighting knock against South Africa in the third ODI of their three-match series. Batting at number three and arriving to the crease following the early dismissal of debutant Rajat Patidar, Samson led India’s recovery by forming crucial partnerships with skipper KL Rahul and young Tilak Varma to score an attacking 108 from just 114 balls.

The right-hander pumped out six boundaries and three sixes during the course of his batting masterclass at Paarl’s Boland Park, and ensured that Team India surged to a competitive 296-8 after their early setbacks.

Samson’s innings even prompted his IPL teammate Jos Buttler to express his jubilant reactions by sharing a congratulatory message on his Instagram story.

Perennial underachiever Sanju Samson was recalled back into India’s squad for the ODI series in South Africa after a number of senior players opted themselves out for some much-needed post-World Cup 2023 rest.

The cricketer utilized his rare opportunity to the fullest by pumping out 108 intense runs for Team India in their series-decider against the Proteas.

His IPL teammate Jos Buttler acknowledged Samson’s momentous occasion by sharing a Rajasthan Royals post on his Instagram story. The English captain and Rajasthan Royals opening batsman also tagged his IPL skipper on the congratulatory post.

Moreover, the cricketer has been making sporadic appearances for the Indian team ever since he made his international debut back in July 2015.
