Jasprit Bumrah's rise in world cricket has been a spectacle to behold. From an IPL rookie to one of the greatest Indian pacers to play the game, it has been quite a ride for the speedster. He made his debut in the 2013 IPL, announcing his arrival on the big stage with a wicket of Virat Kohli and soon became the main pillar of Mumbai Indians' bowling attack.

He is also known for his calm demeanour and though he is an aggressive bowler, he rarely shows his emotions on the field. However, a famous send-off incident from IPL 2014 is still fresh in the minds of millions of cricket fans and it has stayed with Jasprit Bumrah till date.

It was a big game between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede in IPL 2014. RCB needed 72 off last 8 overs with eight wickets in hand and Virat Kohli-AB de Villiers at the crease. It was then that Rohit Sharma turned to Bumrah with his side in a desperate need of a wicket and Bumrah delivered! He cleaned up the dangerous AB de Villiers in the 13th over and in the process gave him an angry send-off as well.

AB de Villiers was a big player and a fan favourite across spectrums which led to a big backlash of Jasprit Bumrah's send-off which even Bumrah is quite aware and expressed his views on the incident in 2017 -

"Yes, I know… even now people tell me, 'How could you do that?' I don't know what I was thinking. We were under pressure at that point and I don't know why, anger just came out. I'm normally not like that."

AB de Villiers is retired now and Jasprit Bumrah has grown into a giant of Indian cricket, but this tussle between two top-notch cricketers will be remembered by fans for years to come.
