In a revolutionary move, the BCCI introduced a full-fledged Women's Premier League 2023. Five teams, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Royals Challengers Bangalore, featured in the inaugural season.

The first-ever Women's IPL received extensive reception as fans thronged stadiums in Mumbai to witness the women cricketers from all over the world in action.

Meanwhile, during a particular game held between MI and GG, MI's men's team players, Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green, turned up to support their counterparts.

During the mid-innings break, Kishan and Green participated in a mock press conference wherein the duo took turns to ask each other questions related to WPL.

Firstly, it was the Indian wicketkeeper's turn to face questions thrown at him by Green. The latter asked the former to share his thoughts on the inaugural game held between MI and GG.

Kishan responded, saying he was proud and loved the team's performance. Moreover, having top-tier talents like skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia, and Saika Ishaque in the fold is always a great feeling.

Next up, Cameron Green took the podium, with Ishan Kishan ready to shoot his question. Kishan asked the Australian all-rounder to weigh in on WPL's impact on women's cricket overall growth.

Green said that WPL is a huge step in the right direction as far as women's cricket's future is concerned. He further cited the example of how men's cricket produced talents and gave a stage for underdogs to thrive in the spotlight.

Cameron Green also feels that WPL will go on to become the no.1 tournament in Women's cricket in the future, and he is excited to see the growth of the same.

Undoubtedly, WPL's inaugural season was a massive success, and subsequently, the stakes have been increased to expand the league. In 2024, the WPL is likely to be held in a multi-venue format.
