To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the much-awaited IPL mini-auction is all set to take place on December 19, Tuesday, in Dubai. Ten teams will look forward to making the most of their remaining budget in the highly anticipated event.

Talking about Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Faf du Plessis-led side has a decent amount of INR 23.25 Crores in the bank. Besides releasing a few non-performing players, RCB acquired the services of promising Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, trading him from Mumbai Indians for a whopping price of INR 17.75 Crores.

Meanwhile, legendary South African batter AB de Villiers has shed light on RCB's possible strategy in the mini auction.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, De Villiers opined that RCB must buy a quality spinner and a seamer besides an explosive batter, who can assist Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell in the finishing department.

"They (RCB) need a couple of X-factor players. If I were there, I would look at an X-factor spinner and an X-factor fast bowler. Their batting looks set but they may get another big hitter to bat alongside Dinesh (Karthik) and (Glenn) Maxwell," De Villiers said as quoted by Sportskeeda.

He also reckoned that ace Australian speedster Mitchell Starc could be a fantastic addition to the Bangalore-based franchise, considering his experience in international cricket.

"Starc has played the IPL for them before. He is bowling really well in the Test matches too. He is the kind of X-factor bowler you need in your team at the Chinnaswamy. He is experienced and smart so it would be a great move," he concluded.
