[Watch] When Rahmanullah Gurbaz Landed MS Dhoni In Pakistan With ‘Iconic’ Helicopter Shot

One of the most aggressive and promising openers in international cricket, Rahmanullah Gurbaz exudes a sense of playing devastating shots wherever he goes. Due to this, the 22-year-old Afghanistani international has already represented two IPL teams, Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Needless to say, Gurbaz also plays in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he plays for Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United. There, during PSL 2022, a shot that he played against during Islamabad’s clash against Peshawar Zalmi at Karachi’s National Stadium in Match 5 of the edition left everyone in awe.

It was the third ball of the 15th over of the innings by Sohail, who bowled a length delivery towards Gurbaz’s pads. With a bottom-handed whip played as hard as he could, the opener unleashed the helicopter, sending the ball over cow corner for a massive six.

Unsurprisingly, Gurbaz’s pose and the way he struck reminded fans of MS Dhoni, whose trademark was, and still is, the helicopter shot.

Apart from Islamabad United in the PSL, Gurbaz also represented Multan Sultans in the past. Even in the IPL where plenty of big names were released ahead of the mini auction, set to take place on December 19, Gurbaz has been retained by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), his current franchise.
