Sir Donald Bradman is probably the biggest name that has ever graced the game of cricket. He played in an age when there was no highlight of the current day social media. Despite this, Sir Don attained heights of fame that parallel the current day's popularity of cricketers.

The Australian great's biggest achievement was the Test average of 99.94. In 52 matches, Sir Don batted in 80 innings and scored 6,996 runs. Out of these 80 innings, he was not out 10 times, which means he was just 4, attaining a perfect 100 average in Test cricket.

Sir Don needed just 4 runs to get a 100 Average in Test Cricket

Sir Donald Bradman's last test was against England in the 1948 Ashes. It was the final Test of the series that was played at the Kennington Oval in London. The English team batted first in the game and was bundled out for just 52 runs.

The Australian team started their innings and had a good start with their openers. They got a patrnership of 117 runs going and that set the stage for the team. Sir Donald Bradman walked out to bat at the fall of the first wicket. He needed just four runs in this innings to get to a perfect 100 average in Test.

However, all the Great Man managed was a silver duck. Australia posted 389 runs in the board in this innings and bundled out England a second time in the test for 188 runs. Thus, the visitors won the match by an innings and 149 runs and Sir Don did not get another chance to bat.

Thus it meant that probably the greatest batter ever to have played the game missed the perfect 100 average in Test cricket by just four runs.
