India's star batter Virat Kohli experienced a slump in 2022, during which runs weren't coming easily from his bat. However, when the team needed him the most, he stepped up and helped India beat Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. On 23rd October 2022, Kohli played a powerful innings to beat the arch-rivals at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia.

The victory, the moment, and the innings are still etched in the memories of the Indian fans who watched the match live. When the win meter was against India, it was Kohli who made the impossible thing possible. The celebrations were doubled because every cricket fan felt Kohli's run drought had come to an end.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya's partnership saved the day for India

The cheers for the Indian team turned into nervous claps after a while as they were 31/4 in 6.1 overs. With Hardik and Kohli on the crease, the Men in Blue had to chase 128 runs in 14 overs with just six wickets in hand. Under immense pressure, Kohli and Pandya formed a splendid partnership and took the game deep.

Kohli started hitting boundaries and sixes from one end while Hardik was guarding the wicket from the other. The fans present on the ground have cheered for every run that has come out of Kohli's bat because the intent was clear. He played like he was there to win the match.

Virat Kohli's two sixes against Haris Rauf stole the show

Even today, cricket fans remember the two sixes Kohli hit off Haris Rauf in the 18th over, which changed the momentum of the game in India's favor. Despite that, India lost two quick wickets, and the pressure fell on the new batter Ravichandran Ashwin, who came to bat when only two runs were required on the last ball.

However, Ashwin stood his ground and hit the winning runs. The crowd erupted with joy, and so did the Indian team. Kohli, like always, looked up to the sky and thanked his father. Moreover, his down-the-ground six won the 'Shot of the Century' by the ICC. What started as a group stage match turned into a historic moment for the cricket fans.
