Bangladesh outclassed West Indies in the third ODI to claim the three-match series 2-1. Opening batters Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarkar laid out the early foundation for the hosts with blistering half-centuries before Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain skittled the West Indies for a paltry total.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the third ODI of the three-match series between Bangladesh and West Indies, as it panned out at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday, October 23.

Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarkar 50s take WI to 296

Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarkar put together a 176-run opening partnership in just 25.1 overs for Bangladesh. While Saif cracked 80 off 72 balls, Soumya top-scored in the innings through his regal 91-run knock from 86 balls with seven boundaries and four huge sixes until both cricketers were dismissed in quick succession by Roston Chase (1-53) and Akeal Hosein respectively. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto at number four chipped in with 44, while Nurul Hasan clubbed an unbeaten 16* off eight at the death.

West Indies clawed back into the game by restricting Bangladesh to just 296-8 from 50 overs, allowing the hosts to accrue just 120 runs from the final 25 overs. Akeal Hosein picked up a tight four-wicket haul at an expense of just 41 runs in the high-scoring innings. Alick Athanaze also claimed two wickets in his seven-over spell.

Nasum Ahmed, Rishad Hossain skittle WI for just 117

Chasing 297 for a series win, West Indies bundled out for just 117 in 30.1 overs to fall 179 runs short of their target. Barring number 10 Akeal Hosein, who bludgeoned 27* off 15 balls, no other West Indies batter managed to go past the 20-run mark.

For Bangladesh, Nasum Ahmed shattered West Indies top-order by claiming figures of 3-11, while Rishad Hossain scythed through the visitor’s middle-order. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tanvir Islam also chipped in with two wickets each as Bangladesh claimed the three-match ODI series 2-1.
