On November 10, 2020, Mumbai Indians (MI) won their fifth IPL title under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. The tournament was shifted to Dubai due to COVID restrictions and MI beat Delhi Capitals by five wickets to claim the record-breaking title.

IPL 2020 season was held entirely in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to COVID restrictions in India. The change of venue introduced a new set of challenges and conditions for the players. Regardless, Mumbai Indians (MI) thrived in the land of the unknown.

The final match was held on November 10, 2020, at Dubai International Stadium against Delhi Capitals (DC), who marked its first final appearance.

Winning the toss, DC opted to bat first and had a horrendous start. Marcus Stoinis was undone by Trent Boult for a golden duck, leaving his side reeling at none for one. Rahane followed next before Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant's 96-run partnership helped Delhi post a respectable 156/7 on the board.

But the target was modest for a well-built team like Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma oozed his class and experience in the run chase, leading from the front with a match-winning 68 off 51 balls. Ishan Kishan stayed unbeaten on 33 off just 19 balls and guided Mumbai Indians to a comfortable five-wicket victory with eight balls to spare.

This victory marked MI's fifth IPL title and Rohit Sharma's record-extending fifth title as a captain. His leadership coupled with MI's star-studded roster proved again why they indeed are a force to be reckoned with in T20 cricket.

He, with this victory, established himself as one of the best captains in the history of the IPL as MI's supremacy in the 2020 season is being recalled now as the defining moment in IPL history.
