Danny Morrison churned up quite a storm on Wednesday while interviewing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the toss against the Lucknow Super Giants. Morrison anticipated the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to be Dhoni's last, which the legend in his own quirky way denied.

However, there is already speculation of Dhoni joining the Indian team post-retirement from the IPL.

Dhoni has worked as a mentor with Team India during the disastrous ICC T20 World Cup 2021, where Virat Kohli and Co. failed to qualify for the semi-finals.

But, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that Dhoni should take some cooling off time before joining Team India in any capacity once he bids adieu.

Here's what Gavaskar said

"Be it the selection committee, the manager, or the coach, I think you need a 2 or 3-year cooling-off period because you are making decisions about the player that you have been playing with. You can give anyone a three-year cooling-off period and then look at it."

The Dhoni-led CSK in IPL 2023, occupies the third position in the points table with five wins and four losses. As far as Dhoni's performance is concerned in the limited chances, he has amassed 74 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 211.42.
