Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) batter Rajat Patidar underwent successful heel surgery in London on Tuesday, which ruled him out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Patidar took to the social media platform Instagram to announce his health update this morning.

Patidar, who joined the RCB camp for a bit, was ruled out of the competition on April 5 due to an Achilles Heel injury. Patidar did go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore in hopes of joining RCB in the second half, however, after medical consultations got ruled out.

Here's what Patidar said

"Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there. I recently underwent surgery for an injury that has been troubling me for a while now, but I'm happy to say that it went well and I'm on the road to recovery! Thank you all for prayers ❤️.

Patidar, 29, was RCB's third-highest run-getter in IPL 2022, scoring as many as 333 runs at an impressive average of 55.50. RCB roped in Karnataka pacer Vyshak Vijay Kumar as Patidar's replacement for the season.

Playing for Madhya Pradesh in Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Patidar scored 565 runs in seven matches, which included one hundred and six fifties.

Despite injuries concerns, RCB led by Faf du Plessis are fifth in the IPL 2023 points table with five wins and four losses.
