Kohli, Pujara Arrive for First Training Session Ahead of WTC Final

The World Test Championship (WTC) final is just ten days away and the preparations have started in both the camps (India and Australia) for the mega event, scheduled to take place on June 7.

This will be India's second successive WTC final, having lost the inuagural editions against New Zealand in 2021.

Ahead of the WTC final, BCCI took to their social media handle, and posted pictures of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Jaydev Unadkat as they arrive for their first training session with the rest of the squad.

Team India have travelled to UK in three different batches. The first batch arrived last week, which included Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Mukesh Kumar and the team management, including coach Rahul Dravid.

The second batch consisted of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin. The WTC bound players, who are part of the IPL final will arrive in England on May 29.

Kohli, who had a stellar IPL 2023 season has joined his teammates alongside Pujara, who was already in UK and was playing County Championship for Sussex. Unadkat, who suffered a shoulder injury during the IPL season has recovered from it and has joined the Indian team for the practice sessions.

Both India and Australia have named their 15-,member squad for the WTC final, with India naming Yashasvi Jaiswal as one of the stand-by players in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad.
