As the World Test Championship (WTC) Final is looming large on the Indian cricket team which is to be played ten days after the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned the transfer of players in a phased manner.

This news comes after BCCI announced the squad recently with 18 players included and it was confirmed that all the members will be travelling after the elimination of their respective teams or completion of the IPL.

In this case, the first batch will be moving on 23rd May after the conclusion of the group stage with the next one flying out on the 25th after the two Playoff games are done in Chennai.

After that, the final set of players will be sent out on 30th May as the Final will be played on 28th May in Ahmedabad with Eliminator on 26th.

This has been done to ensure players enter England well before time to ensure that they acclimatise well to the conditions.

With Cheteshwar Pujara already in the UK where he is currently captaining Sussex and already in a very good form, the Indian team management would be a little less worried about his form.

India’s Test squad for WTC final: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishan Kishan, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.

Stand-by Players: Mukesh Kumar, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav.
