After missing the cut for the T20 World Cup 2022, England's star opener Jason Roy might be making his return in the English jersey for the ODI series against Australia that begins after the World Cup on 17th November.

Once England's go-to man, Roy was left 'shell-shocked' after he was dropped from the setup owing to a poor home season where he averaged less than 13 in the T20Is. His poor performance opened up the door for Alex Hales who made a comeback to International cricket after a three-year-long hiatus.

However, he has been a crucial member of the ODI setup and as of now, he looks all set to retain his place. Skipper Jos Buttler expressed his optimism about Roy being the mainstay.

What Jos Buttler said

"We know what a brilliant player he is when he's on song,

"He will be a vital player for England moving forward. His talent is never going to be in question."

Furthermore, Hales might also not be available for the series, primarily because he will be engaging with T10 League. It is not just Hales, but Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, Harry Brook and Mark Wood might also give it a miss.
