England face off against Afghanistan in match 14 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as the Super 12 stage gets underway tomorrow. Both teams clash at the newly built Perth Stadium and not the traditional WACA.

England have a 2-0 lead over their Asian counterpart and will hope to keep their unbeaten record intact, while Afghanistan will look to start the tourney with an upset.

The Three Lions are coming off wins over Pakistan and Australia, whereas Afghanistan had a poor show in the Asia Cup 2022, bowing out in the Super four stage.

This edition has already witnessed a few upsets and England captain Jos Buttler is quite wary of that fact when facing an opponent like Afghanistan, who are quite the mavericks themselves.

According to IndiaToday, Buttler spoke highly of the Afghan team and looked forward to a competitive game.

Buttler on Afghanistan

"I see them as a really tough opponent. There are some fantastic players in their team and any side with Rashid Khan in T20 cricket is going to have a big say. So, we give them huge respect and we look forward to a competitive game,"

England, and Afghanistan are joined by Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Ireland in Super 12 Group 1.
