After losing their first player in the first over of the chase itself, Kolkata Knight Riders have brought in Venkatesh Iyer as their Impact Player in a stupendous chase of 229 runs. Iyer was fantabulous in KKR's last victory over Gujarat Titans on Sunday.

Iyer has replaced leg-spinner Suyash Sharma in the playing party in the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, his stay at the crease wasn't a pleasing one as he got dismissed on 10 after playing 11 balls.

Earlier in the match, a blistering century from Harry Brook, Aiden Markram's remarkable fifty and cameos from Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen took SRH to a gigantic total at Eden Gardens.

Brook - with his knock of 100* - became the first century-mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Interestingly, the Englishman was substituted by all-rounder Washington Sundar by the visitors.

At the time of writing, the Knight Riders are at 20 for the loss of three wickets, with Narayan Jagadeesan and Nitish Rana in the middle. The chase could be tricky for the home team as they have got their big-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell to an injury earlier in the match.
