Sunrisers Hyderabad's big-buck boy Harry Brook has become the first centurion in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, converting his maiden IPL half-century into the three-figure mark against Kolkata Knight Riders at their den, Eden Gardens.

Brook has become the third century-maker for the Sunrisers in the history of the league, following the footmarks of SRH's former skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.

On Friday, the English batter smacked a marvellous hundred for his maiden IPL team, which included 12 fours and three biggies, to complete his milestone in 55 deliveries, helping his side reach a mammoth total of 220 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders, with three balls still to go.

Interestingly, he has become the fourth centurion for SRH and the third batter to accomplish the milestone. Warner is the only Hyderabad batter to smack more than one ton for the franchise.

Eventually, the 2016 IPL champions finished off their innings at 228 runs, thanks to the contributions from Brook, Aiden Markram and cameos by Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.

Despite getting two lifelines in the innings, Brook showcased his prowess against both seamers and pacers, becoming a nightmare for the Kolkata bowlers.

Having mentioned Kolkata's state, the rare ray of hope for them was Andre Russell, who scalped two pieces in his first over. However, the burly all-rounder got injured during the first half of the game, making KKR's chances frailer in the chase of 229 runs.
