Skipper Aiden Markram Guides SRH from the Front; Hits a 50 in a Blink of an Eye
If Harry Brook has been spellbinding then Aiden Markram was even one step ahead of the Englishman. The Sunrisers Hyderabad captain smashed a half-century, his first of the season, in a blink of an eye. However, Markram could not stay that long to tell his tale, as he got outclassed just after smashing his fifty.
Markram, who amassed two fours and five maximums in his entertaining knock, completed the milepost with a four and a sixer off Varun Chakaravarthy, but got dismantled on the very next delivery.
With Brook being on song from one end, Markram didn't have much pressure at his side. But the SRH skipper took the high road, not lending the Kolkata bowlers any breather.
Initially, he started off his innings by rotating the strike in his first 10 balls, but as soon as he got his eyes set, the South African dasher went berserk.
Markram was exceptional against Suyash Sharma, smacking him for three biggies and a four. Meanwhile, he hit a couple of boundaries against Chakaravarthy before the mystery spinner had the last laugh.
Even though Markram was sent back to the hut, his English partner kept the foot on the accelerator and is unbeaten at 84 after 17 overs, with SRH's score reading 186 runs.
