The ace middle-order batter of Karnataka created history by smashing a triple hundred against England in 2016. While facing England in the 5th Test match of the series in Chennai, the middle-order batter unleashed his destructive mode and played a thrilling knock of 303 runs in 381 deliveries with 32 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries.

With that, he scripted history to become the only the second batter after Virender Sehwag to score more than 300 runs in a Test innings. That innings played a crucial role in securing a massive victory. Even though he has limited opportunities in India’s jersey, he etched a forever place in fans’ hearts.
