As Pakistan’s woes on the global stage continue, the players are receiving nonstop criticism. Even though the nation has shifted its focus to the ongoing Pakistan Super League, some questionable performances are still receiving harsh criticism.

After the recent poor outing against the Islamabad United, star pacer Shaheen Afridi received backlash. Former Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir weighed in, saying that while Shaheen has all the tools, he often fails to apply his cricketing brain when it matters most.

Sohail Tanvir Slams Afridi's Mindset

As the Pakistan Super League has been back with another thrilling edition, fans enjoyed a thrilling encounter between the Islamabad United and the Lahore Qalandars. However, it wasn’t a night to remember for Qalandars’ skipper Shaheen Afridi. Struggling with form, he gave away 38 runs in his 4 overs without taking a wicket. After that match, former Pakistani star Sohail Tanvir slammed his mindset.

“He has everything [skills], but He doesn’t use his brain. He does not know when to bowl which delivery.” Tanvir said.

How Can Shaheen Bounce Back?

In Pakistan’s bowling department, Shaheen Afridi is a formidable force. But in the past few times, his recent form has raised eyebrows. His last performance was no exception to that. When asked about Afridi’s struggles, former pacer Sohail Tanvir remarked that the key to turning things around lies solely with the player himself.

“Yes, you sit down with your coach to create a general game plan, but the situation on the field can change quickly. Coaches can provide support, but you must respond to the game’s circumstances and adapt your plan as needed.”uation of the game and make your plan b,” he said.

“Shaheen is a wonderful kid; now he has learned outswing as well, but what I think so he is not smart enough and lacks decision-making power,” he added.

After starting the PSL 2025 journey with an 8-wicket defeat, Lahore Qalandars faced a setback. As the tournament proceeds, they will be eager for a stronger bounce-back.
