After a humiliating loss against England in the semi-final stage of the T20 World Cup 2022, India's confidence was badly shattered. While many of the legends of the game bashed the Men in Blue, there was one who is looking at the way forward.

Former Indian leg-spinner and head coach, Anil Kumble has called the Indian side to adopt the strategy of using the batters who can chip in with a few overs too. He especially mentioned that we keep talking about bowlers knowing how to bat, however, it should be the other way around too.

The 52-year-old iterated that even when a player is picked in the domestic setup or A team, they are mostly tasked with batting rather than throwing their arm with the ball. Furthermore, the leggie made a point that there should be a system in place that needs to be followed.

"what I see as something that certainly needs to be done is, how we keep talking about bowlers need to bat. But I think in Indian cricket, you need batters to bowl too for the balance of the team,

"Unfortunately even in the India A team that gets picked, it's mostly batters who don't bowl. It's important to create that brand of cricket and say that this is how the Indian team is going to do it and it should follow right through the system."

India will next be seen playing against New Zealand in a bilateral series beginning on 18th November.
