Pakistan's entry into the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 left everyone surprised and shocked given their performance in the Super 12 Stage. Despite all the odds, the Babar Azam-led side comprehensively beat New Zealand on Wednesday, rekindling Pakistan's script from the 1992 World Cup-winning campaign.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and former captain Ramiz Raja has praised his side for qualifying while taking a not-so-subtle jibe at Indian cricket. As per Indian Express, Raja on arrival in Australia stated that Pakistan has done better than nations that have a billion-dollar league.

“Billion dollar ki industry waali teams peeche rah gayi hai aur hum upar nikal gaye hai (Teams with billion dollar leagues are falling behind us). We are doing something right.”

However, this is not the first time that Raja has taken a potshot at the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The former captain also thwarted any possibility of an India-Pakistan series taking place in Australia, as claimed by former Australian player Simon O’Donnel.

“I don’t have any such knowledge about the Test series to be played between India and Pakistan."

Raja further praised Azam's leadership skills, hailing him as one of the best skippers Pakistan has ever had.

Pakistan meet England in summit clash on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
