On a day when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were smashed for 199-5 by Rajasthan Royals (RR), SRH's captain Aiden Markram smacked a scintillating 175 against the Netherlands at the Wanderers before coming to India to join his IPL franchise.

Batting at number 4, Markram scored 175 off just 126 deliveries, which included 17 fours and 7 sixes, to notch his maiden ODI century.

On the back of the stylish right-hander's smoking knock and David Miller's gung-ho 91 off just 61 balls, South Africa pushed their total to 370-8 in their allotted quota of 50 overs.

Markram has stolen the show in the on-going third ODI between Netherlands and South Africa. Coming in to bat at no. 4, he slammed a knock of 175 from 126 balls at a strike rate of over 138. The knock was laced with 17 boundaries and seven maximums. David Miller was the other top batter for South Africa; he scored a knock of 91 runs.

Riding on the impressive knocks from these two batsmen, South Africa scored 370 for 8 in their 50 overs. For the visitors, Fred Klaasen, Vivian Kingma and Paul van Meekeren picked up two wickets each while Shariz Ahmed and Aryan Dutt also chipped in with one each.

Earlier in the second ODI, he scored an unbeaten 51 and also took a wicket. Markram had also delivered a few good performances in the T20I series against West Indies last month.

Because of national duty, Markram was not a part of today’s IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. However, he will be available for Hyderabad’s next match against Lucknow Super Giants on 7th April in Lucknow.

Markram is one of the most prolific white-ball cricketers. In T20 internationals, he has a strike rate of over 150 in 34 matches. He averages over 30 in ODIs and Tests too. Last year in the IPL, he scored 381 runs in 14 matches at an average of 47.63 and a strike rate of almost 140.
