On Monday, Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Lucknow Super Kings in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League 2023. Both teams comprise some outright match-winners, so we expect a high-voltage clash in Chennai.

Meanwhile, there are some on-field rivalries which can determine the outcome of the game. Let's analyse and list such four player battles to watch out for in this face-off.

Kyle Mayers vs Moeen Ali

Dynamic West Indies batter Kyle Mayers didn't let LSG miss Quinton de Kock in the first game, smashing a magnificent 38-ball 73.

However, much like most left-handed batters, Mayers has had some issues versus right-arm off spinners, as evident from the stats below.

Kyle Mayers vs right-arm off-spinners in T20 cricket: 312 balls, 297 runs, 13 dismissals, average-22.84, SR- 95.19

So, considering these numbers, MS Dhoni might introduce Moeen Ali earlier into the attack to neutralise Mayers. Also, Ali has dismissed him once in international cricket.

Ambati Rayudu vs Krunal Pandya

CSK mainstay Ambati Rayudu had a poor outing in the first game against GT, being dismissed for a run-a-ball 12. While he aims at a redemption, it won't be an easy task for him, as he will be up against Krunal Pandya, against whom he doesn't have great numbers.

KL Rahul vs Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar has been a force to reckon with the ball for CSK over the years. The seamer can prodigiously move the new ball in the air and can therefore pose serious threat to the LSG top order.

However, skipper KL Rahul could be LSG's saviour, as he has astonishing numbers against Chahar in T20s.

So, can Chahar dismiss Rahul for the first time tomorrow? Only time will tell.

Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Mark Wood

Ruturaj Gaikwad starred with the bat for CSK in the first game, amassing 92 runs off just 50 deliveries. On a similar note, Mark Wood was LSG's pick of the bowlers against DC, scalping five wickets for just 14 runs.

Therefore, the battle between these two players will be fascinating, especially as Gaikwad struggles against high-pace body-line deliveries.
