Sanju Samson Starts IPL 2023 Campaign With a Stellar Half-Century

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain, Sanju Samson started the 2023 IPL season with a perfect captain's knock. Samson came out to bat at number three and played a handy knock after an astonishing start given by Jos Buttler.

Put into bat by SRH, Rajasthan started the IPL campaign with one of the most brutal hitting ever-witnessed in the tournament's history.

Both Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal started the game on an aggressive note and the boundary floodgates opened right from the first over. Buttler started the tournament with a 22-ball fifty and gave a terrific momentum for the middle order batters to capitalise upon. 

Once he departed, Sanju Samson took the matters in his own hands and never let the scoring rate go below 10 runs per over. Samson, a quality player of both pace and spin, utilised the conditions to his advantage and took Rajasthan to a strong position.

When Samson is batting, there is hardly any room for error and the SRH bowlers witnessed it first hand as the RR skipper smashed 3 fours and 4 sixes.

At the time of writing, Rajasthan are 186 for 5. Just like Buttler, Samson too, departed after reaching the 50-run mark (55).
