'Shikhar Wants Us to Bowl First; So We'll Bowl,' Rohit Sharma Cheekily Responds at Toss

At toss time between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, Rohit Sharma won the toss. He responded to what his boys would do at Mohali in a cheeky manner, showing the Rohit Sharma humour and letting everywhere in pieces during the coin flip ceremony.
While electing to bowl first, the MI captain said, "I asked Shikhar (Dhawan) what we should do (haha). He said to bowl first, and hence we are bowling first."
Further at the ceremony, the Punjab skipper quoted that - "They would have also bowled first."
Rohit, who is known for his dry humour, shares a strong bond with the Punjab skipper. The duo has opened the innings for India for more than ten years, sharing countless accolades during their partnership. And apart from that, both Sharma and Dhawan have a robust friendship and mutual admiration for each other.
Meanwhile, this is the only third time these two captain sides against each other in the IPL (the first two times in 2013 and now).
Earlier, when MI and PBKS met in IPL 2023, Dhawan did play due to a shoulder injury.
Nevertheless, MI and PBKS have made some changes to their starting XIs, as they have opted for the horses-for-courses theory.
