RCB vs KKR | Jason Roy's Early Carnage, Rana's Skillful Batting Takes KKR to Commanding 200

There was drama, sixes, run-fest and every bit of emotion could be seen when Kolkata Knight Riders were batting at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The KKR innings could be summarized in two parts. They started with flying colours, and towards the end just slowed down a touch, allowing RCB to crawl back in the contest as they manage 200 for 5 in 20 overs.

Roy goes berserk

Jason Roy started from where he left against the Chennai Super Kings. With a belter of a track on offer, Roy cashed in properly and went after the RCB bowling. He respected their best bowler, Mohammed Siraj, but took a special liking towards Shahbaz Ahmed, smashing him for 25 runs in his solitary over.

His opening partner, Narayan Jagadeesan looked scratchy on the other end, but Roy was in some mood today as he blazed away to a quick-fire fifty. But just like against CSK, a lapse in concentration costed him his wicket as the England batter went back to the hut for 56.

Rana, Rinku take KKR to 200

KKR needed something special from their skipper Nitish Rana and he provided just that. He started aggressively and made RCB paid for the drop catch by Siraj at long-off. He smacked Harshal Patel for two sixes and raced away to a 21-ball 48, before being sent back by Hasaranga.

His other partner, Venkatesh Iyer also departed quickly as KKR were far away from the 200-run barrier. But Rinku Singh did what he does the best. He took on RCB's best bowler in Siraj and smacked him for 6, 4, 4 to rattle the seamer. Eventually that little cameo helped KKR to reach 200 on the board.
