Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Nitish Rana rode his luck tonight, being dropped twice during his side's ongoing group-stage fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Riding on two missed chances, Rana shifted gears to form a useful consolidating stand alongside Venkatesh Iyer.

The KKR captain joined Iyer in the middle after young RCB seamer Vyshak Vijay Kumar wreaked havoc in the Knight Riders' camp, removing a well-set Jason Roy for a fabulous 29-ball 56. However, Mohammed Siraj dropped a sitter at long-off when Rana was batting on five, thereby preventing Kumar from recording his maiden IPL three-fer.

Rana gave RCB another chance to dismiss him only to be dropped once again, with the culprit being Harshal Patel this time. Notably, both catches were sitters and should've been grabbed without breaking a sweat.

Following the incident, RCB fans slammed Harshal and Siraj for their respective on-field blunders, while some joked that Rana must've paid to the RCB players to drop such easy chances.

Before getting out to Wanindu Hasaranga, Rana scored a breathtaking 21-ball 48, glittered with three fours and four sixes.

So, some fans pointed out how dropping Rana is proving costly for RCB.

As of writing, KKR are 170 for four in 18 overs, with Andre Russell and Rinku Singh batting on 1* run each.
